Stained Glass

Our church will always be there to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England-led funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.

Death may happen very suddenly or it can be after a long illness. It may involve a young person, someone older or a visiting friend or relative. Whatever the circumstances, for the family there are a number of legal and administrative requirements to complete. These would be difficult in one’s country of origin, but when it happens in another one they take on even more significance.

We will all have our own national traditions and expectations; in Luxembourg the law clearly defines roles and responsibilities. Some of one’s expectations may not be possible and this may lead to considerable stress.

A guide prepared in consultation with the various authorities and people who deal with these issues on a day to day basis can be found here. The guide seeks to provide some answers to the most obvious questions relevant to the administrative procedures in connection with dying in Luxembourg. Our Chaplain, Geoff, would be happy to talk to you about arrangements for a funeral or memorial service. Contact details can be found here.
